Bromley & Sevenoaks
Parliamentary Candidate for Orpington
Monday, 15th March 2010
Ted Heath, the Tory prime minister in 1972, took the UK into what is the now EU with deliberate lies and stealth. His opinion was that ‘…the British public are too stupid to be involved in governing themselves…’. i.e. only he and his fellow, self appointed Elite are intelligent enough to govern the rest of us thickies.
Since then the Tory grandees have colluded with the ruling Elite of the Labour and Liberal Democrat parties in a systematic removal of our individual rights and democratic institutions.
Why?
Well as one ‘A’ lister put it while observing at an Orpington by-election - “...it’s very degrading having to grovel to the thick, stupid voters just to get elected”. Although of unknown party he was clearly someone hoping to become a professional career politician. It does not matter which party - they are now like three peas in a pod.
The political Elite of the three larger parties have come to believe they should not have to be accountable to the public they are supposed to represent. It’s all far too degrading – particularly having to account for their ‘creative’ expenses.
It can cost as much as costs £50,000 with as many as 200 foot soldiers to ensure a really good chance of winning a contested seat for parliament. If a Party is going to put up that much money and effort then they want to own the MP completely if he is elected - ‘..he who pays the piper calls the tune..’
The political parties wish to ensure they have only obedient MPs who will do as they are told by the Whips. In exchange they can become a member of the Elite Politique - with all the perks that go with it. To that end they are making great efforts to foist their chosen compliant metropolitan 'A' listers onto local selection committees. Their loyalty must be to the party machine – not to their voters.
The Tory HQ refers to their local members in East Anglia as the 'Turnip Taliban' and 'Suffolk Swedes' for resisting the imposition of the metropolitan 'A' listers. The bottom line is that our current politicians have complete contempt for the voters who they consider to be nothing more than ballot fodder.
Tory HQ has been caught out again trying to foist their 'chosen ones' onto the Beckenham and Orpington Tory Party short lists and one Orpington Tory member has been suspended for objecting.
What epithet will they be giving us here? The 'Orpington Onions' and the ‘Beckenham Bananas’ perhaps.
1962 gives us a good history lesson when the Tory HQ parachuted their chosen man onto Orpington against the wishes of the local party. They had a 14,000 majority turned into a 7,000+ loss in that election.
It happened then and can happen again. People power can still make its voice heard loud and clear – but only if you all vote.
The Elite of all parties have reneged on their ‘cast iron’ promises to hold a Referendum. When it comes to the election next May the only party to vote for now is UKIP. The rest have repeatedly demonstrated they are completely untrustworthy.
Mick Greenhough - prospective parliamentary candidate for UKIP for Orpington
